The Reducing the Dosage series is a collection of videos following my journey as I wean myself off of Lamotrigine, which is a mood stabilizer often prescribed for bipolar disorder.
Dosage (0:18-5:24): I am at 8.8 mg. I am still going down by 0.1 mg/d, and it is working great, especially compared to the large chunks I was going down by before. I feel stable here.
What I’ve Been Up To / How I’ve Been Feeling (5:24-10:57): I’ve felt so much more stable since getting back on my medication properly after the last episode (Ep. 31 – Cold Turkey Surprise). I have even felt HAPPY, genuinely happy, for a 2 week stretch. Though in this video I’m going through a bit of a rough time, that period of happiness was a great sign. I feel like I am converging on a life of truly holistic health, which was my ultimate goal when I started this process. I’ve been working at my job as best I can with some ADHD type withdrawal symptoms. I’m also moving soon, following my intuition to new places as it guides me through life.
Healing Actions I’m Taking (10:57-15:12): Daily yoga practice, art, music, breath of fire. Seeking a disciplined meditation practice and building up my network of healthcare professional allies.
Next Steps / Existing Challenges (15:12): Keep on keepin’ on. Meditate frequently and with more guidance. Stay positive.
