Black Hole Dissolution

One time several years ago, as I patiently sat at a friend’s desk in their room while they were at school, I somewhat accidentally slipped into an astral projection meditation where I gradually floated further away from the Earth, out into the solar system, beyond our galaxy, and eventually became engulfed by a black hole. My atoms began to split and my body was dissolved until I was simply an essence, a mind, a consciousness. I can truthfully say it was one of the most peaceful, transcendental experiences I’ve ever had while sitting at a desk. Inspired and enlightened, I wrote this poem in response:

Falling need not end in sudden pain and darkness
Retrain the mind โ€” a hole once black turns bright with fiery stars
Air is lighter, gravity lessens its tug
Embracing the plummet is the key to liberation

Relax as the walls disintegrate around you
Floating now, nothing to fear
Once a giant object in a tiny passage
Now, become a speck in an infinite sea of emptiness
In this place thoughts need not flood the mind
For the collective consciousness overcomes

Illusions of self transform into understanding
Even without eyes one can see
Everything is forever

A mindful endeavor exploits the irony
That enlightenment is a truth of nonexistence
So let go of the materialistic binds that restrain you from peace
Free the atoms of your being to travel into new realms of creation
Reincarnate the love and wisdom long ago lost
By forgetting
Such that you may remember again

The only truth is this: there is none.
So breathe deep
Recollect your soul
And love freely
Fall up that hole and float above its unfathomable depths

You are nothing
Which makes you far more powerful than the everything that weighs you down
