When I was growing up, my mom often repeated a compelling message:
“Life sucks, then you die.”
Very inspiring, I know.
Despite the pessimism in this statement, it has its truth. Sometimes, life does suck. And yes, one day each of us will most definitely die.
As we grow older, life has a way of weighing on us with its unexpected events of misfortune and disappointments, either within our own life or in the world.
Over time, if we feel enough defeat of life’s difficulties and injustices, we tend to shut down and shut ourselves off. This phenomenon can actually be perceived physically in the energy field and chakra system. When we shut down, we close our energetic centers, blocking our bodies from receiving energy.
This habit of shutting down our energy field in response to stress is what creates depression. When we are depressed, we literally do not let energy into our body; usually because we are feeling afraid or angry.
This pattern of closing off our energy field is automatic, and represents a sort of trauma response. When things get scary, we tighten up our chest, belly, or pelvic floor, literally closing off our chakras (energetic vortexes), which are designed to take in and metabolize energy for our health and happiness.
Energy field awareness gives us an empowering, self-healing tool that is free and effective, with no negative side effects. You can learn to notice how and when you shut down your energy field, and take steps to gently open yourself back up again. This creates more flow, grace, and ease in your life, even when difficulties arise. You are able to breathe, be grateful, and have hope, because you are still open to the miracles and infinite abundance that life, and the Universe, has to offer.
Of course, it takes time, training, and practice to cultivate these skills of self-awareness and energetic regulation. That’s why receiving energy healings and guidance from a practitioner is so beneficial for people who suffer from chronic depression.
In my work as an energy healer, I help open your field back up, energizing your body, and clearing your mind. This type of healing restores your access to the divine intelligence, magic, and innate joy within you.
With that in mind, let’s rephrase my mom’s statement, creating a new, empowering vibration:
Sometimes life sucks; and eventually, you will die. So, while you’re here, be willing to open up, and let life in, especially when things get hard. You have far more inner and outer resources than you realize.
