Anxiety or Inner Peace? We Get to Choose.

I’m not a “Lion’s Gate” person (8/8), but I certainly had trouble sleeping the night before. Wild psychic energies moving throughout my system all night. Nothing to do but ride the wave, heal myself, astral project to Egypt, receive light codes from the stars, unlock inner child wounds, finally fall asleep at 6am…

Energy is everything. We are energy bodies, existing in a sea of energy, manifest into form. Sometimes, energy is pleasant, enjoyable. Other times – like when we’re trying to sleep at night – energy can be a nuisance. Taking the form of racing thoughts, or unprocessed feelings, or a restless body, energy can make it hard to get the rest we need.

When we see the world through the perspective of energy, it causes us to perceive everything differently. It can seem a bit daunting and overwhelming, at first: how can I control something that has no definite form? What does that mean for my ability to remain safe, secure and grounded?

After these initial fears, however, this reality becomes liberating. If we know that everything: my thoughts, my feelings, my body, my patterns, this planet, my loved ones – are made of energy – this gives us much more freedom to interact with our self and the world with less rigidity and attachment. We can let go of holding on, because we know that everything (and everyone) is in constant flux. Paradoxically, letting go allows us to become more relaxed and trusting in life. What a relief!

Because energy responds to focused attention and intention, this perspective is also liberating in that we have the power to change our reality. Truly, we do. Though we can’t change others’ realities, we can most definitely change our own; how we move energy, perceive energy, interact with energy. All of this can change, if we realize that we have this power within us.

Depression, Anxiety, shutting ourselves down, lighting ourselves up; we run these energy patterns unconsciously. Until we realize: I have a say in the matter. I don’t need to stay up all night worrying about the future. I don’t need to lay in bed all day feeling like crap. I can choose how I want to use my energy today. I have a choice in the quality of my life.

So, instead of staying up all night letting the Lion’s Gate energies control my restless mind, I set boundaries in my evening meditation: “Tonight, I give myself permission to rest. I let go of work and purpose for the next 12 hours. I choose instead to be in a force field of peaceful love with myself.”

I slept very, very well. (:
