Reducing the Dosage series is a collection of videos following my journey as I wean myself off of Lamotrigine (Lamictal), which is a mood stabilizer often prescribed for bipolar disorder.
In Episode 14, I go down to 50 mg, and discuss the concept of shame as it pertains to mental illness and taking psychiatric drugs. I discuss the importance of accepting and loving exactly where you are in the healing process, regardless of your goals; and deeply understanding that You Are Enough. I also emphasize the importance of only surrounding ourselves with people who empower and encourage us, so that we may be supported in becoming the best versions of ourselves.
